Isn't it interesting to see that more and more English words come into the German language and have become an integral part of it? Whether it's sports, nature, culture, economy&industry, career, politics. Whether we talk about bicycle parts, running shoes, swimsuits, you name it, English words, brandnames, designations are just about everywhere within the German language.

The best example especially talking about triathlon is the word "IRONMAN" (our Eiermann )

Which other English words are we using daily while talking German? And which German words, apart from Gummibears, Kindergarten, Porsche, Bee Ämm Dabbeljuuh etc. have become an integral part of the English language ?

There's not much to explain, it's just sort of an ironic view on typical german habits/behavior. Ok, I should've written "Achtung!" Verboten is used like "Forbidden, more forbidden, verboten". Yeah, they know us quite well

Ansatz. Probably exclusively used in mathematical context and relatively newly introduced. However, there seems to be no corresponding english expression. (Actually, tons of physical terms introduced in the 1920s-40s by germans are used everywhere in the world. Might be true for other sciences as well.)

It's true, many English speaking countries still associate Germans with a strict military drill. Germans are known to be quite disciplined, a bit unemotional, very direct!

This may be very useful while working with people frm other countries: you can be even more direct than germans ever are. If it's to much, you have an excuse "Sorry, it's my german education". This is even practice-proofed.

nooooooo! Mahlzeit even sucks like hell in German. No wonder there's no expression for it in other languages. Ban Mahlzeit now!
